"No, I strongly disagree with the notion that metal has declined," he asserts. "In fact, I believe it's thriving more than ever. Metal has an incredible ability to adapt and captivate audiences, and its rebellious spirit ensures its longevity."
Eckerström goes on to explain how metal's popularity fluctuates, sometimes gaining mainstream attention and other times thriving within its dedicated community. "We, the metalheads, keep the scene alive," he says. "We're like the cockroaches of the music world—we adapt, survive, and thrive, no matter the circumstances."

"Sometimes it explodes, like the nu-metal wave in the early 2000s, which introduced a whole new generation to the genre.
